The MRI and LIver Ultra Sound Today

Today I had and ultra sound and an MRI. The ultra sound showed no sign of the liver in the chest cavity. I was thrilled. The doctor said that the ultra sound is not a for sure sign that the liver is down. The MRI will be a for sure sign. Ultra sounds aren't that high tech, but I was very relieved. The only way to see the liver in an ultra sound is to look for a vein. The vein should have the shape of a J to be normal. If out of place or going up the shape of the vein doesn't look like a J. In my little girls case the doctor said she can see the J shape. Yay. What a relief. I had a discussion about the contractions I have been having. The doctor told me to monitor them closely and if the start to come more frequently than once and hour told me to come back immediately. She also said that she would write a note to my work to tell them that I can't lift anything and I can't be on my feet for more than an hour. I also told her that I have had several decreases in energy and have felt like I was going to pass out. She then decided to run another blood test to see if I am enimic. She told me that it would be better to find out now before the baby, and correct the problem, then to have to deal with that problem on top of all the others. She also noticed in the ultra sound that I have an abnormal amount of amniotic fluid. She said that the baby is not swallowing regular amounts due to the stomach being out of place. She said they will monitor the fluid and if it gets to be too much they will have to pump it out. This will not effect the baby, but will make me have alot of pain. I still am going to deliver around the 36th- 37th week of my pregnancy. Last week in March. As of this week I am on week 32.

The MRI went great today too. The baby didn't like it much though. They had to put something on my stomach acting like an antenna to absorb the radio waves. The baby didn't like that at all. She has a very hard time when anything is agents her. Invading her space. She also didn't like the loud sounds and kicked frequently. The MRI staff took 2 shots of me holding my breath. I tried at least. They wanted me to hold my breath for 20 sec. I had a really hard time and I think I only held my breath for 5 sec. I couldn't do it and had to breath shallowly. I hope that was ok. They didn't say anything. I also had a really bad contraction in the machine and asked if they noticed. They did and said that it was a very big one. I was kind of scared to do my breathing exercises to help with the pain. I asked if they got everything they needed. They told me they did and I left. I want to thank you all for all your prayers I do think that they have made great impact on the out come. Thanks again and I love you all.
