I Get to Hold Ally!!

Today after NICU parent hour I went to see Ally. I knew that they were going to take the C-PAP off today, but I wasn't sure at what time. I got there to find out that it had been removed along with the ART line. I ran over to the bedside and see was wide awake. The looked up with joy in her eyes to see me. She seemed so much happier off the C-PAP. I started to cry. The nurse there was one of my primary nurses and had known how much I was dying to hold her. She immediately got a chair and pillow. She then called another nurse to help her situate the cords and tubes. Then for the first time I actually truly got to hold her and rock her. She stared at me and I stared at her smiling. It was like she could read my thoughts. I sat with her for quite a while rocking her and she fell asleep in my arms. What a joyous day. I have never been so happy other than my wedding day. What a wonderful miracle God has given me.
