Our Alaskan Adventure
on Friday to weeks ago, Josh and I went on a 7 day cruse of Alaska. It was for our 10th wedding anniversary. Friday We drove to Kennewick Washington and stayed the night with Josh's sister Michelle's house. Saturday we dove the rest of the way to Seattle where the cruise was departing from. Saturday night we stayed with Stacy. Josh's other sister. It was so much fun catching up with both of them. Sunday morning we boarded our cruise ship. Our ship was called the Star Princess.
Sunday and Monday we were at sea. That morning Josh and I had a couple mud bath. I have never been so relaxed in my life. After the bath I got my hair cut and done. it was in desperate need of help. Monday night was our first formal night. Josh wore a boutonnière and I wore a corsage. We got an awesome picture of our fomal outfit. We had the best dinning table friends. A father and Daughter who we loved to see every evening. Bruce and Kelsey.
Tuesday morning we arrived in Katchican. Josh wanted to go salmon fishing. I was not so keen on the idea but went along. We caught 2 carp and that was all. We had a great time talking and getting to know everyone on the boat. The best thing that happened while fishing was our captan was quite a good eagle caller. He called an eagle from a tree and threw him 1 of our cop. The eagle swooped down 10 ft. away from the boat and caught the fish. It was awesome. We also did some shopping there as well.
Wednesday afternoon we docked at Juno. This by far I think was my favorite day. We did a Canopy Zip Line. So Much fun. Our longest line was 700 ft. long and the tallest line was 150 ft. off the ground. We met great people on that excursion as well. One of whom was one of the Cruise directors. After the zip line more shopping. After dinner we caught a comic magic show with our table friends.
Thursday night was Skagway. We went to the summer dog sled camp and was carted around on what looked like a golf cart made for 6 and the musher. We were pulled around by a team of 16 dogs. After the ride we went back to the dog sled camp and learned about dog sledding. We also got to hold some of the new puppies that were 9 days old. So Cute. After our dog sled adventure we came down the mountain and went on yet another shopping trip.
Friday was a sea day. That boring Josh and I had a couples massage. I felt more relaxed after the mud bath then after the massage. Every sea day they had an art auction. At one of those auctions Josh and I bought a wonderful painting of two little girls out in the grass waring sun hats. We both looked at it and thought of Evie and Ally and had to get it. Friday night was another formal. It was so good to see are awesome table friends because we had missed them the night before. After dinner we changed and went to a stage show called British Invasion. The songs sung where The Who, Rolling Stones etc. It was wonderful. Josh wanted to go to another comic magic show but I was tired. We had planned to to go to the buffet, like we always do before bed, but we fell asleep.
Saturday night we were suppose to dock at Victoria, Canada but were not able too. The wind was blowing so bad the captan wasn't sure he could dock the boat well and was afraid of crashing into the rocks by the dock. Disappointed we ate diner and tried to find something else to do. We played Majority Rules and watched another comedy show. We also played BINGO that afternoon. Before dinner we packed up all our things.
Sunday got up and dressed and went to disembark the ship. After leaving we went to Stacy's and chatted some more. We didn't realize how late it got and had to stay in Oregon overnight.
Monday we returned home. It took Gracie about 15 min. to recognize us.
Our trip was a blast. We want to go again. It wasn't to cold
on the fishing boat. What a great trip.
